theory: featuring the Continuum
location: Wellington, FL and The Everglades
phenomenology
A retreat-style equestrian estate and commercial horse farm composed of the classical elements: earth, water, air and fire. The Continuum channels energy from The Everglades and is located just a short trot from the grounds of the prestigious National Horse Show.
biophilia
The expansive goals, phases, and revisions that make up the Continuum allowed for pure forms and natural adaption. With the architect’s perspective on sustainability, the project truly became a one-of-a-kind property informed by the surrounding environment.
sustainability
The Continuum barn utilizes solar technologies with natural daylighting and passive ventilation to achieve net-zero energy consumption annually. Custom designed and engineered tensile fabric run-in sheds shelter horses while gathering solar energy and collecting rain water for irrigation.
